“In the social jungle of human existence, there is no feeling of being alive without a sense of identity.” – Erik Erikson
Hello! You can call me Jolo :)! I’m a 16-year-old boy from the City of Quezon, Philippines. Let me introduce you to myself :D!

Born from the great province of Lucena, yet grew in the vast cities of Quezon, I once aimed to be a firefighter, believing in one principle, “to save lives”. As I carry my name alongside the path of learning, I saw multiple doors with different opportunities, yet I have to pick one. As I enter my elementary years, I started to be mesmerized to stories I’ve heard about doctors. Twenty-four-seven awake, ready and not hesitant to help and save lives together with their dreams. Not only the stories of doctors are truly amazing but also story about scientists and their discoveries, astronauts and their journey and engineers with their works. As my thoughts revolve about these ideas, my mind wonders how I could be one of them. It will be a long process I said. Despite it, I’m still determined to be one of them, to be someone who could help the country and make remarkable deeds that will leave a change in the society

As my awareness of this world widens, I realize things that I should appreciate. Subjects that make me excited and eager to learn. They make learning great and what mainly does not happen, light. We have more or less two decades to prepare ourselves before our lives are converted into a more complicated group of systems, working. I honestly could tell that I am still so far from the checkpoint of working, I have not accomplished many things yet. There’s still so many stuff I have not done. As my age increases, I’ll learn more and use this knowledge to accomplish more.

When I was in elementary grade, I remember my math teacher asking me if I could represent my school, Diliman Preparatory School in the Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge. I could not specifically remember why my teacher asked me to, but what I think is that she based it from our performance in the class. Besides math, I also represented the school in the World Robotics Olympics. I could not tell if I’ve done great in these competitions but I’m proud to join and experience them.

I did so many activities in my life, and I would gladly to perform all of these over and over again. New activities indicate new experiences, thus new experiences give more wisdom and knowledge about our life, our journey.
